Professional Background
Mr. Zamites is a percussion instructor for Athletic Bands at Boston University. He has also served as a percussion instructor for the Upper Merion Marching Vikings since 2017.
Mr. Zamites is an alumnus of the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he played snare drum for the UMass Drumline from 2011 to 2015. There he studied under DCI Hall of Fame and Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame member Thom Hannum, and the Boston Crusaders Director of Percussion, Colin McNutt. Prior to UMass, Mr. Zamites was a snare drummer in the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps for the 2010 DCI season.
Mr. Zamites is a 2011 graduate of Upper Merion High School and was a band member from 4th-12th grade. He was a member of the Upper Merion Marching Vikings from 2007-2011 under the direction of Don Washam. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from UMass Amherst and works as a software engineer at Zoom where he resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
